About Us

The best estate agents have a thorough technical knowledge of property; the local area and conveyancing as well as being fussy perfectionists with a camera and putting as much effort into the preparation of property particulars as writing an A-grade essay. They are a hand to hold and the voice of reason when things are getting rocky and the people who should joyfully dance with you when you finally collect the key to your new house. They should, above all, care deeply about you the customer and your home.

We are blessed to have an office full of these wonderful people…

    A little bit about me...

I was the first of my family born on the Isle of Wight but feel like an Islander through and through. After being educated in Ryde, I joined a local estate agency after my A Levels. Buying my own agency in 2005 was the best 30th birthday present ever! I’m surrounded by an amazing group of friends and colleagues who all share my passion for property and people. I live in Brighstone with my three doggy babies (you’ll meet the gang if you pop into my office).

    • My role as Managing Director:

The overall running of the business (fun stuff like accounts and VAT returns); specialist market appraisals, especially village property and making sure we offer a level of service that surprises and delights our customers.

    • What makes me smile:

Getting my hands in the dirt at my allotment surrounded by sprinting sighthounds.

    • Not my cup of tea:

Incorrectly used apostrophes on advertising signs. Grr!

    • Favourite Island spot:

Brook beach at low tide on a freezing but bright winter morning.

    • Guilty Pleasure:

Crocheting when I should be doing my VAT return! (And Channing Tatum but don’t tell anyone.)

    A little bit about me...

I was born and bred on the Island, and am a Gurnard girl. I lived away for a few years in London and then realised the error of my ways and moved back with my husband in 1996. My background as a financial advisor eventually led to working in estate agency, which is where I met Megan. When she set up on her own in 2005 I was thrilled to join her and here I am, doing something that I love and am lucky enough to be good at. I cannot imagine working anywhere else or with anyone else, and even though being a great estate agent is stressful and emotional, it is hugely rewarding and I wouldn’t swap it for the world!

    • My role as Office Manager:

The daily running of the office and supporting the team; market appraisals all over the Island and the juicy, difficult parts of sales progressing.

    • What makes me smile:

Long sunny days; really good locally sourced food and exploring in my VW camper.

    • Not my cup of tea:

Having to cook my own tea.

    • Favourite Island spot:

Gurnard Green at sunset – it is where my husband and I sat and decided to come back to the Island, and have never regretted it..

    • Guilty Pleasure:

      Strictly come dancing…  SEVEEEEEN!

    • Super Power (according to Megan):

Quite simply the best estate agent on the IW.  (I’ve no proof but I dare you to find a better one!)

    A little bit about me...

Born in Carisbrooke, I have lived on the Island all my life and love it here. I joined the MBEA team in 2014 as an Administrator and can honestly say submitting my application was one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. Having not had any previous estate agency experience it was an exciting new challenge to learn from the ground up and have made new friends along the way. I now live in East Cowes with the men in my life (my amazing husband and two young sons).

    • My role as Administrator:

The cheerful front face of the office handling all the administrative aspects of the business as well as chasing sales through from point of offer to exchange of contracts.

    • What makes me smile:

Sitting in front of my sewing machine working on my latest project.

    • Not my cup of tea:

Frogs (they know my fear and always jump at me)

    • Favourite Island spot:

Carisbrooke Castle – I have some great childhood memories of walking around the moat in height order with friends (I was always at the back for being the shortest)

    • Guilty Pleasure:

      Watching trashy MTV  programs.

    • Super Power (according to Megan):

The most organised person I’ve ever worked with. (And unfailingly happy every day!)

    A little bit about me...

I call myself an Islander after moving from Guildford in Surrey at the age of 8. I can honestly say it was the best decision that my parents made and living right by the seaside in Seaview is like a permanent vacation.  Coming from a Dance background unfortunately my circumstances changed after an injury which meant a change in career.  Still wanting to continue working with people and always having a passion for property it was a no brainer when a position at Megan Baker’s became available. I continue to learn more every day, but couldn’t wish for a better group of people to learn from.

    • My role as Negotiator:

I have the best part of the job showing lovely people around their potential new home; helping them visualise and cost any improvements and keeping our social media and marketing fresh.

    • What makes me smile:

Riding my pink vintage bicycle along the seafront.  Ding ding!

    • Not my cup of tea:

Clowns.  Never liked them, never will.

    • Favourite island spot:

Steep Hill Cove. Whatever the weather it looks beautiful.

    • Guilty pleasure:

Sweet and Salty popcorn, sounds so wrong but it’s so right!

    • Super Power (according to Megan):

Grace has the spooky ability to instantly pick up the best traits from each of us and is the most creative marketing person I’ve ever worked with.

    A little bit about me...

My family moved over to the Island just before I was born, and have been here ever since. I moved off the Island to study a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, before spending a year converting it into a Law degree. My love for the Island meant a change in my career direction, which is how I came to work for Megan. I have been with the company since 2013 and I can honestly say I’ve never loved a job more. I live in Cowes with my husband and two young children.

    • My role as Negotiator:

Registering new applicants looking for their dream home so that when Anne or Megan come back from a market appraisal I have the lovely job of matching the property to our waiting mailing list.  I also keep our sellers updated with recommendations on the marketing of their homes.

    • What makes me smile:

Being outside, rain or shine with my horse and dog in tow!

    • Not my cup of tea:

Mushrooms and spiders (you can’t trust either of them).

    • Favourite Island spot:

Yaverland beach – nothing better than an early morning gallop along an empty beach as the sun rises.

    • Guilty Pleasure:

Chocolate (a bit obvious but there it is!)

    • Super Power (according to Megan):

An amazing memory – perfect for matching people & property. (And my clients tell me every day how lucky I am to have her!)

People say the nicest things...

  • Amazing customer service, very accommodating and supportive especially as a first time buyer. nothing seemed too much trouble and I felt 100% confident asking ‘silly’ questions due to my lack of experience in buying a house! Truly wonderful people!
